Posted here are two interview protocols for possible use by a CLT’s staff in collecting information from homeowners when first moving into a CLT home (“Entry Survey: CLT Homebuyer”) and when later moving out of a CLT home (“Exit Survey: CLT Homeseller”). Developed by John Davis and Tim McKenzie under a HUD-funded cooperative agreement with the Institute for Community Economics, these survey forms should be considered a work-in-progress. They may be fine-tuned in the future, as local CLTs suggest additional questions or clearer ways of wording the questions that are already here. These forms may eventually be linked into a data management template allowing for the automatic tabulation and analysis of the data collected. CLTs should not wait for further refinements to these forms, however, before using them – or modifying them – to begin collecting essential information about the buying and selling of CLT homes. Suggestions for improving these interview protocols may be sent to Burlington Associates c/o: TMcKenzie@BurlingtonAssociates.com
