Roots of the CLT Movement

Roots of the Community Land Trust Movement, an unpublished essay discussing some of the cultural and religious traditions underlying the modern-day CLT movement in the United States. This essay was written in 2001 by Vicki Lindsay, founding director of the Wellspring Community Land Trust in Gloucester, MA (later renamed the Community Land Trust of Cape Ann). She also served for many years on the board of the Institute for Community Economics. It is posted with permission of the author.
